Soccer Game Preview: Community School of Davidson vs. Christ the King

The Community School of Davidson Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Christ the King Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Community School of Davidson had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Bradford Prep on Wednesday. Community School of Davidson never let Bradford Prep get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. It was an even better day for Eliana Puma as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christ the King). They blew past Corvian Community 8-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won six in a row.

Community School of Davidson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matches. Christ the King's win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Community School of Davidson came up short against Christ the King in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Community School of Davidson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
