Softball Recap: Harriton Rams vs. Garnet Valley Jaguars

Harriton extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-8. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garnet Valley Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 16-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Garnet Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

For Garnet Valley's part, Sophie Maitland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Maitland has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arieanna Dawson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Faust, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double.

Looking ahead, Harriton will welcome Great Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Garnet Valley, they are taking a road trip to face off against Springfield at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
