 Shamokin Area put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season  on Tuesday. They blew past the Central Columbia Bluejays 12-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Shamokin Area also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2023.
  EMMA KURTZ made a splash no matter where she played. She  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. KURTZ has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. KURTZ was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news, Shamokin Area got a  massive  performance out of  AVA BONSHOCK, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  AVA HUGHES was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-3.
 The  win  made it two in a row for Shamokin Area and  bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Central Columbia, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record  this season.
 Shamokin Area is on the road again  on Thursday to play Milton at 4:30  p.m. As for Central Columbia, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Mifflinburg at 4:30  p.m. Mifflinburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4  runs per game  this season.
