Basketball Recap: Nakera M Hawkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Effingham County over Greenbrier

Effingham County lost against Greenbrier last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Effingham County Rebels fell 58-47 to the Greenbrier Wolfpack.

Effingham County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nakera M Hawkins, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyjana Jordan, who posted 12 points.

Effingham County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Greenbrier, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.

Looking ahead, Effingham County will venture away from home to square off against Glynn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenbrier, they will take on South Effingham in a tournament on Tuesday. Greenbrier is facing South Effingham at the right time seeing as South Effingham is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
