Preview: Horizon Christian vs. KIPP Legacy Lions
Horizon Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. Horizon Christian and the KIPP Legacy Lions will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Horizon Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches.
Horizon Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Varsity Opponent at home to the tune of 83-50. Horizon Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 26 points or more this season.
Quinn Yoder was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Landyn Loring was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, KIPP Legacy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats at home and fell 77-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss KIPP Legacy has suffered yet this season.
The losing side was boosted by Nick Mapp, who scored 29 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season.
Horizon Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for KIPP Legacy, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Horizon Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like KIPP Legacy struggles in that department as they've made 37.9% of their threes per game this season.
