Softball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell lost against Madison back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mountaineers came up short against the Patriots, falling 22-4. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mitchell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Cook, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Madison, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

While Mitchell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
