Soccer Recap: Mid-Carolina Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eau Claire last Tuesday, Mid-Carolina came back down to earth. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Newberry Bulldogs who were credited with the victory on Thursday. The Newberry Bulldogs got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Mid-Carolina Rebels' one. Mid-Carolina were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newberry apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Mid-Carolina's goal came courtesy of Jennifer Boland, who's now up to five this season.

Mid-Carolina's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Newberry, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Mid-Carolina wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 16-0 win against Eau Claire on the 28th. As for Newberry, they will face off against Swansea at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th. Newberry's defense better be ready for this one: Swansea has averaged an impressive 3 goals per game this season.
