Softball Game Preview: Newport - Bellevue Knights vs. Mount Si Wildcats

The Newport - Bellevue Knights will challenge the Mount Si Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Newport - Bellevue has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Newport - Bellevue made easy work of Sammamish and carried off a 21-12 win. Considering the Knights have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mount Si had just enough and edged out Inglemoor 8-6 on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Anna Braukus, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Rowland, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Mount Si always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Newport - Bellevue is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Mount Si, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
