Basketball Recap: Reagan Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmer over Honey Grove

Palmer's tournament run continued when they took on Honey Grove on Saturday. The Palmer Bulldogs fell 41-31 to the Honey Grove Warriors.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reagan Davis, who posted six points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Borden, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Palmer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their 14th loss (out of 21 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Palmer has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Honey Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Palmer will host Scurry-Rosser at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Honey Grove, they will take on Tom Bean at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tom Bean will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Honey Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
