Basketball Recap: Monmouth United Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lewistown on Thursday, Monmouth United came back down to earth. The Monmouth United Red Storm took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes. The Red Storm have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Abingdon/Avon can attribute much of their success to Ayden Stromson, who posted 15 points. Jacob M Hall was another key player, putting up nine points.

Monmouth United's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Abingdon/Avon, they pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Monmouth United will welcome Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monmouth United is facing Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at the right time seeing as Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Abingdon/Avon, they will challenge Galva at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galva will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Abingdon/Avon surely won't give up without a fight.
