Soccer Game Preview: Florence vs. Austin

The Florence Falcons will face off against the Austin Black Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Florence's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while Austin has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Florence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Hoover, who was ranked second at the time (Florence was ranked fifth). The Falcons took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Austin didn't have quite enough to beat West Morgan on Friday and fell 3-2.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-2. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

Florence took their win against Austin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
