The Smyrna Bulldogs will face off against the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Smyrna fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Rockvale on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 95-89 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rockvale. On the bright side, the 89- point performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring game to date.

Smyrna might have lost, but man, Kaden Matthews was a machine: he shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 37 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Matthews is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliyon Kinzer, who posted 24 points and eight boards.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hume-Fogg and Stratford meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Blue Knights fell 65-59 to the Spartans. Blue Knights fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Spartans since Tuesday.

The loss snapped Smyrna's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. As for Hume-Fogg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
