Volleyball Recap: Marian Beats Lincoln East for Their Third Straight Win

Marian waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Lincoln East Spartans with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win last Friday.

While Marian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-16.

Fallyn O'Connell paced Marian's offense, picking up 13 kills. O'Connell got some help from Addy Janke and her 31 assists. Finally, Erin Cramer kept Marian's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Marian's victory bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Lincoln East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season.

Marian will challenge Elkhorn South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
