Baseball Recap: Kinston Takes a Loss

Kinston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 26th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Southwest Onslow Stallions, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Kinston's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Southwest Onslow, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kinston will welcome James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.78 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southwest Onslow, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Lenoir at 6:00 p.m. The Stallions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
