Football Recap: Dunedin Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dunedin had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They snuck past the Gibbs Gladiators with a 12-6 win. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly six points.

One reason for the win was Dunedin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Emmorie Barnes with four.

Dunedin pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.7 points on average over those games. As for Gibbs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Dunedin will face off against Wildwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. Gibbs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
