Volleyball Recap: John Curtis Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Archbishop Hannan

John Curtis Christian faced Archbishop Hannan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Hawks. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

John Curtis Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.

Despite the loss, John Curtis Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mikaela Duncan had 12 digs and two assists.

John Curtis Christian's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 23-9. As for Archbishop Hannan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.
