Softball Game Preview: Oak Hill Golden Eagles vs. Caston Comets

The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will challenge the Caston Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Oak Hill fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mississinewa on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 9-7. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Caston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Triton a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

Caston got a massive performance out of Natalie Warner, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Warner has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kylee Logan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Caston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Caston's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
