Softball Recap: Midview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Avon Lake on Wednesday, Midview came back down to earth. The Middies fell just short of the Berea-Midpark Titans by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Middies have suffered since April 3, 2024.

Savannah Holcomb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Savannah Presser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Liv Keenan, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Midview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Berea-Midpark, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

The future could be bright for both Midview and Berea-Midpark: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Middies will try to hand Olmsted Falls their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark will look to extend St. Joseph Academy's five-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
