Volleyball Recap: Granger Lancers vs. Taylorsville Warriors

Granger was the 3-2 winner over Taylorsville when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Warriors on Tuesday.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Granger lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Kj Faaome paced Granger's offense, picking up nine kills. Faaome got some help from Ky Hoang and his 19 assists. David Barragan controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Taylorsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nefi Delgado, who had 16 assists and six digs. That's the most assists Delgado has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Radley Johnson, who had 12 digs.

Granger has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Taylorsville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-12.
