Soccer Game Preview: Brookland-Cayce vs. Gray Collegiate Academy

The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats will take on the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Brookland-Cayce managed to slip by North Augusta the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bearcats lost 3-0 to the Yellow Jackets on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Brookland-Cayce's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Gray Collegiate Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Indians. Considering Gray Collegiate Academy have won 14 games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Gilbert with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from JJ Evans (2), Maddox Nettles (2), and Ethan Mohundro.

Gray Collegiate Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven contests. As for Brookland-Cayce, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record.

Brookland-Cayce couldn't quite get it done against Gray Collegiate Academy in their previous meeting on April 3rd as they fell 2-0. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
