Basketball Recap: Mountain Crest's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Mountain Crest's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Ridgeline on Tuesday. The Mountain Crest Mustangs strolled past the West Field Longhorns with points to spare, taking the game 53-34. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Longhorns on January 4th, they had to take a 53-40 defeat.

Mountain Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Niko Dimitricoff out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 12 points and eight boards. Noah Cardon was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

West Field's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaden Fowers, who posted nine points and five boards, and Jordan Harrison, who had five points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Harrison has posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory snapped Mountain Crest's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. As for West Field, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Crest will head out to take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Crest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for West Field, they will take on Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeline knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully West Field likes a good challenge.
