Volleyball Recap: Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Valley hadn't done well against Viburnum recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Jays. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Viburnum scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Reagan Schrum paced Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Schrum got some help from Ryleigh Maxwell and her 14 assists. Maxwell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alivia Boyer, each putting up four.

Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. As for Viburnum, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Grandview on the 29th. As for Viburnum, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Belle on the 30th.
