Softball Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Granada can now relate to. They fell just short of the American Canyon Wolves by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Matadors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Kamryn Brannon spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madeline Bittman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Granada's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for American Canyon, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Granada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for American Canyon, they will head out to square off against San Ramon Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. American Canyon's pitchers better be ready for this one: San Ramon Valley has averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
