Basketball Recap: Wilmington Takes a Loss

Wilmington lost against Morris back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wilmington Wildcats took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morris Redskins.

Despite the loss, Wilmington still got an impressive performance from Lucas Rink, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. That was a full 36.1% of Wilmington's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Nelson, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Morris, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will challenge Joliet Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morris, they will host Manteno at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manteno will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Morris surely won't give up without a fight.
