Basketball Recap: George West Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only George West walked away with it. They walked away with a 40-30 win over the Santa Rosa Warriors on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Santa Rosa lost, don't look at Mia Garza. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. What's more, Garza also posted a 55% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Amber Mendoza was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

George West's victory bumped their record up to 17-18. As for Santa Rosa, their loss dropped their record down to 22-10.

George West has already played their next game, a 61-26 defeat against Tidehaven on the 17th. Santa Rosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
