Softball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Falls Short of St. Edward in the Playoffs

Harvest Christian Academy and St. Edward squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Harvest Christian Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 5-4. The Lions have struggled against the Green Wave recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Alyssa Burke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Haley Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Makayla Richards, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Harvest Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for St. Edward, they pushed their record up to 16-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Harvest Christian Academy nor the Green Wave have any future games scheduled.
