Softball Recap: Lynden Lions vs. Lake Washington Kangaroos

Lynden was the 8-2 winner over Lake Washington when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lynden Lions fell just short of the Lake Washington Kangaroos by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. Lynden has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Lake Washington's part, Christina Minor made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned run off two hits. Minor has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Minor was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Malia Donohue was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.

Lynden's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lake Washington, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

As for Lake Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Auburn Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn Riverside is on a six-game streak of home wins, Lake Washington a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
