Winn let Hebbronville stack four runs on them in the third inning on Friday but luckily Winn prevailed anyway. The Mavericks skirted past the Longhorns 6-5. The Mavericks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Winn's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Hebbronville, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
