Softball Recap: Sparta Gets the Win

Sparta lost to Okawville back in May of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Rockets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on Alexis Tadlock, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylynn French, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sparta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Sparta's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Okawville, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rockets beat Sparta by a score of 12-7 on Thursday.
