Baseball Game Preview: MMI Preparatory School vs. Hanover Area Hawkeyes

MMI Preparatory School are taking a road trip to square off against the Hanover Area Hawkeyes at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. MMI Preparatory School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

MMI Preparatory School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Skuba, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Skuba is becoming a predictor of MMI Preparatory School's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another was Derek Radzwich, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover Area). They blew past Tunkhannock 11-5 on Tuesday.

Logan Richardson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Richardson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ben Kolbicka was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Conor Richardson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Hanover Area's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for MMI Preparatory School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

MMI Preparatory School beat Hanover Area 10-7 in their previous meeting on April 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for MMI Preparatory School since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
