Basketball Game Preview: North Dickinson Nordics vs. Baraga Vikings

The North Dickinson Nordics are taking a road trip to face off against the Baraga Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. North Dickinson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Baraga likes a good challenge.

North Dickinson is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Forest Park just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Nordics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Trojans are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Baraga unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 52-43 to Wakefield.

Baraga's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for North Dickinson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5-1.

North Dickinson took their win against Baraga in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 63-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Dickinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
