Softball Game Preview: Grove City Greyhounds vs. Hayes Pacers

The Grove City Greyhounds will face off against the Hayes Pacers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grove City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Hilliard Bradley by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Meanwhile, Hayes got themselves on the board against Olentangy Berlin on Thursday, but Olentangy Berlin never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Bears.

Not much got past Bronwynn Leighty, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Olentangy Berlin off the board. Leighty has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, McKenna Coleman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Grove City's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Hayes, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.

Grove City was able to grind out a solid victory over Hayes in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, winning 6-3. Do the Greyhounds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pacers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
