Football Game Preview: St. Joseph Flyers vs. Second Baptist Eagles

St. Joseph hasn't had much luck against Second Baptist recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Flyers will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Joseph beat San Antonio Christian 41-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flyers.

It was another big night for Charlie Stefka, who picked up 133 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 79 yards. Aidan Hamilton got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while Second Baptist put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Kelly Catholic. The Eagles claimed a resounding 31-0 win over the Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

St. Joseph's record is now 8-2. As for Second Baptist, their record now sits at 4-6.

St. Joseph was taken down by Second Baptist 42-7 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Flyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
