Baseball Recap: Stillwater Comes Up Short

Stillwater suffered their closest defeat since May 21, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hoosic Valley Hawks by a score of 6-4. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Hawks when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ryan Brown was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Brown wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Luskin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Stillwater's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hoosic Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Stillwater will venture away from home to square off against Hoosick Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hoosic Valley, they will welcome Saratoga Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Saints have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.
