Recap: Lowell Red Devils vs. Culver Academies Eagles
The Lowell Red Devils lost against the Culver Academies Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lowell lost to Culver Academies on the road by a decisive 51-37 margin.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddie Mielczarek, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Fleming, who scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Culver Academies to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Herron, who scored 13 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Valencia Miller, who scored 14 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Lowell's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-9. As for Culver Academies, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Lowell will head out on the road to challenge South Bend St. Joseph at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Bend St. Joseph is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Culver Academies, they will play host again and welcome Bethany Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Bethany Christian is ranked 163rd, while Culver Academies is ranked 172nd).
