Basketball Game Preview: Dowagiac Chieftains vs. Allegan Tigers

The Dowagiac Chieftains will head out on the road to challenge the Allegan Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dowagiac will be strutting in after a victory while Allegan will be coming in after a defeat.

Dowagiac is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Benton Harbor: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Dowagiac blew Benton Harbor out of the water with a 64-18 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.

Meanwhile, Allegan lost 48-27 to Bridgman on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allegan's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Dowagiac, they moved to 4-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Everything came up roses for Dowagiac against Allegan when the teams last played back in February of 2022, as the squad secured a 53-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dowagiac since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
