Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sutton

Sutton won the last time they faced Milford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sutton Mustangs secured a 54-49 W over the Milford Eagles. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Eagles are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milford lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Colby Rautenberg, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Owen Anderson, who scored eight points and three steals.

The win was the third in a row for Sutton, bringing their record for this year to 14-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Sutton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-40 victory against Sandy Creek on the 30th. Milford has also already played their next contest, a 53-49 loss against Wilber-Clatonia on the 31st.
