Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Turpin Spartans

Milford and Turpin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Milford Eagles will be playing at home against the Turpin Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Milford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Turpin likes a good challenge.

Milford is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Turpin: they outscored them in every quarter. Milford was the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over Turpin on Thursday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season.

Violet Shuluga continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabby Chadwell, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 12 points along with five assists and four steals.

Milford was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.

Milford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Turpin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-19.
