Football Game Preview: Pine Bush Bushmen vs. Valley Central Vikings

Pine Bush has gone 7-1 against Valley Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bushmen will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Pine Bush will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Pine Bush is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Kingston with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 36-20. The Bushmen haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jemire Bey-Dominick went supernova, rushing for 203 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game. Noah Schorling was another key player, gaining 97 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pine Bush was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingston only rushed for 189.

Pine Bush didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Michael Morley, Schorling, and Jordan Bryant picked up one apiece. Morley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Valley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Monroe-Woodbury 43-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Crusaders are ranked 50th).

Valley Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pine Bush, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Pine Bush took their victory against Valley Central in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 34-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bushmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
