Basketball Recap: Kobe Stevenson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Thornton over Richwoods

Thornton kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richwoods Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Thornton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kobe Stevenson, who shot 53% from the field en route to 19 points and seven boards. Dakari Nesbitt was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Thornton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-53 loss against Boylan Catholic on the 26th. As for Richwoods, they have also already played their next contest, a 67-49 win against Lutheran on the 26th.
