Soccer Game Preview: Lamar vs. Pueblo Central

The Lamar Thunder will venture away from home to challenge the Pueblo Central Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lamar came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Liberal, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Lamar were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Brendyn Batemon, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Pueblo Central was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Pueblo West could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. With that draw, Pueblo Central's record moves to 6-3-1.
