Baseball Game Preview: Allen County-Scottsville Patriots vs. Warren East Raiders

For the second straight game, Allen County-Scottsville will face off against Warren East. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen County-Scottsville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Allen County-Scottsville nor Warren East made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Patriots fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 4-3.

For Warren East's part, Matthew Escalera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. Escalera also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Raiders are 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Warren East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Alexander, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Kavien Hinton was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Warren East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17-1.
