Soccer Game Preview: Humboldt vs. Belmond-Klemme

The Humboldt Wildcats will challenge the Belmond-Klemme Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Humboldt's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Humboldt and Iowa Falls-Alden, and Iowa Falls-Alden kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Cadets on Monday. That's two games in a row now that Humboldt have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Belmond-Klemme was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Hampton-Dumont/CAL could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Belmond-Klemme's draw gives them a new season record of 0-1-1. As for Humboldt, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Humboldt was able to grind out a solid victory over Belmond-Klemme in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
