Two dominant backs in Devaughn Eka and Prince Afu are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lehi Pioneers will be playing at home against the American Fork Cavemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lehi is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.4 points per game this season.
Lehi is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Herriman, who was ranked seventh at the time (Lehi was ranked 14th). The Pioneers and the Mustangs were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Pioneers suffered a 22-21 defeat. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Legend Glasker, who rushed for 43 yards and one score, and also picked up 57 receiving yards.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Vincent Evans for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lehi's defense didn't let Tyler Messer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Adruen Meredith with two. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.3 total tackles per game. Another thorn in Herriman's side was Evans, who picked up a sack and made 19 total tackles.
Meanwhile, American Fork had just enough and edged out Lone Peak 31-28 on Friday.
Lehi's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for American Fork, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Lehi has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like American Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 149.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Lehi's way against American Fork in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Lehi made off with a 28-7 victory. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Cavemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
