Basketball Recap: Harmony Franklin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbus over Sumter County

Columbus played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Sumter County Panthers, falling 70-46. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Columbus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Harmony Franklin, who posted five points along with nine boards and six assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyna Gilbert, who put up 13 points.

Columbus' record now sits at 10-15. As for Sumter County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
