The Yreka Miners will challenge the Eagle Point Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Yreka: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Eagle Point has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Yreka played against Anderson on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Kaelynn DeBortoli was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeBortoli was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Macey Howell and Emmie Freitas did most of the damage at the plate: Howell went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Freitas went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Yreka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eagle Point is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Thurston just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Colts, falling 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Colts since May 2, 2023.
Sarah Estes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kady Lindstrom, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Eagle Point's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Yreka, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-18.
Yreka came out on top in a nail-biter against Eagle Point in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
