Baseball Recap: Webster Thomas Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Webster Thomas had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Gates Chili on Tuesday. The Titans never let the Spartans get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Gates Chili's batters probably weren't too happy with Jacob Dicicco, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks). Dicicco has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Estelle was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Owen Zimmer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Webster Thomas hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Webster Thomas' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gates Chili, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Webster Thomas will head out on the road to challenge Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gates Chili does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
