Volleyball Recap: University City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

University City came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Point Loma Pointers, falling 3-0. The Centurions haven't had much luck with the Pointers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-9.

Point Loma found their leader in sophomore Olivia Karvelis, who had 17 digs and nine aces. Karvelis has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

University City now has a losing record of 17-18. As for Point Loma, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. University City is set to challenge their familiar foe La Jolla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Point Loma will square off against rival Lincoln at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
