Football Recap: Monroe Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Monroe Academy finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Patrician Academy Saints, falling 37-13. The contest marked the Volunteers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ethan Carr produced another solid effort rushing for 197 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry for Patrician Academy. Carr's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 156 rushing yards. Remington Faile also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.

Monroe Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Patrician Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Monroe Academy will challenge Clarke Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Volunteers will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Patrician Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Morgan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
