Volleyball Recap: Temecula Valley Starts Season with Win Against Centennial

Temecula Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Centennial Huskies.

Temecula Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22, 18-16.

When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost, don't look at Mckenna Giles. Despite the final result, she had 33 digs and seven assists. Giles is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Coming up, Temecula Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fallbrook at 6:00 p.m. Centennial has already played their next game (against Harvard-Westlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
